My hard drive has failed me. Sigh. I think it is gone for good. So until I get a new one I will have very limited access to internet. I have my work computer, but it has limited access. I think I will use the time wasted sufing the net by doing productive things, though wasting time is way more fun.

Thursday night brought the much anticipated boat trip down the river Thames. It was wet, and windy and the food was beyond horrible. But I actually had a really fun time. The boat was rocking on what felt like 3-4 foot waves, so it was like a combination boat / roller coaster. Most everyone on the boat became progressively and significantly more drunk as the night went on, so by the end of it, every boat sway in one direction led to a drunken sway in the other, and I …

Okay… I like a nice breezy day as much as the next person, but this is getting a little ridiculous. I would say that just about every day for the past 2 weeks has been windy. Not easy breezy lovely day, but actually windy enough to make your ears hurt. Luckily I have been listening to Ricky Gervais blogs on the way to and from work so I don’t have that particular problem, but I look like Broom Hilda by the time I get to work!

I SWEAR a squirrel was trying to get me to play with it today. No, I haven’t finally lost it, and I am not making this up. I was walking home on my usual route through St Pauls Cathedral park and I stopped because the velcro on my walking home shoes was catching my tights. It is very interesting to me that the Brits care about the US so much! Especially US politics. On the one hand, a lot of people seem reluctant to say anything for fear of rocking the boat – I am sure they think I am just another gun toting, Bush loving, cowboy dancing (?) American who can barely point to the US on a map – but I DO actually have a mind about politics – and I’d rather be challenged than have them just keep quiet!
