Dillemas and Solutions

I have lots of news to report – some good, some taxing! On the GOOD side, I am settling in nicely. I found an excellent flat, and I am very happy about it because it is right on a 200 acre park. The balcony looks over a canal with dicks and geese – the canal is about 15 feet across (yes Mom, yes Kathleen,  yes Joanne, and yes Kristin, there is a fence around it so Baby Sutton will not go flying in), and then the park is literally right there, so it is about a 1 minute walk to get to the park, 5 minutes to get to the duck pond, and they also have a deer area, a place to race model boats, and a kids’ play area. Lots of other stuff too, such as a few restaurants and lots of paths for walking or cycling. Now I just need a baby and a husband….

Had my first day back to work as well. Everyone was very welcoming and kind – telling me I look great even though I know I am enormous!!!! Pregnant women “bloom” here, so they say. What a nice way of saying you are fat! I’ll get to continue to do a little traveling for work – nothing too exotic, but I get to go to Worthing next week for 3 nights. Of course most of the time will be work related, but Worthing is only 10 miles away from Brighton (amounting to about a 15 minute train ride), which is supposed to be very pretty… it is on the seaside and a lot of people like to go there for a weekend getaway, etc.

The only real piece of very bad news is that the arrangements we made for the dogs fell through. So we are working on a solution. We both love the dogs very much, so it doesn’t work for us to just have them euthanized or placed in a shelter, and we are talking to a few families who might be interested. If you know of anyone who might like to give them a loving home, please let me know. At this point, we still have some options open to us, so we shall see how it goes.

I have a doctor’s appointment on Wednesday afternoon, and I am excited to hear the baby’s heartbeat!!! I only wish Michael could be there too. With a little luck, he will be out in time to go to the ultrasound appointment and we can both see our little bundle of joy for the first time together. I’ll probably start to cry, since I cried at baby clothes the other day! I have turned into such a wuss…

Do the “dicks and geese” get along? I hear they think they are all the *ahem* “cock of the walk.”

I’m afraid I have bad news… You will now be “emotional” until your child leaves the nest, and then again when your child has their own child!

Is THAT why you are so emotional mom???

If I had a canal of dicks outside my window, I’d never get any work done.

So glad the first day back went well, Jen!
