The Hunt Is On – Day 1

16 April 2009 1 views One Comment

I began my official London Job Hunt today. Should be interesting in the current climate to see how readily I can find something. Therefore SGTL will be bringing you updates as Michael tries to find financial reward on the other side of the pond.

Since we are on the subject of Americans in England (well, we always are) can I say how sad and desperate the Tax Day “teabaggers” looked. Really? I won’t get into too much detail, but tax rates for the highest bracket are currently lower now (35.6%) AND under Obama’s plan (39.6%) than when Reagan was in office (50%). Additionally most of the people at these protests aren’t even sniffing at this tax bracket. Finally, and back to facts, I’d like to see how excited all the people at that rally (who think socialist elements to a government are evil) are when they realize their agenda would mean doing away with Medicare. I’m sure their aging baby boomer parents might have a word or two. Or, better yet if their farmers weren’t subsidized for their meat production and they had to pay $30+/lb for ground beef. You have to love it!
