Jobs & Flat
No, it isn’t the new hit show on NBC his Fall…
Yesterday I went over and got the keys for our new place and checked it out to make sure that everything was good to go. By the time I was back to the flat (we are leaving) it was 3:30. It became very apparent that making 3-5 tube trips and struggling with these bags would be a) miserable and b) take 6-10 hours. I opted for the cab. £40 and 40 minutes later, I was at my new place with everything inside. That was money well spent.
Taking a cab also freed up last night, so we spent time with Sherry and Lev, which was great to catch up and just chat. We met them over by Oxford Circus and Jen suggested (hijacked) that we all go eat at Mildred’s (her new favorite restaurant.) I’m pretty sure Sherry and Lev liked it too, but Lev was a little iffy. He’s more of a doughnut guy we found out. Well, that and the fact that he just ate raw tomato for the first time least year.
So that brings me to today and the now, and the now is my new routine until Virgin Media deems me credit worthy to have internet access. Without said access, while I am in the middle of a job hunt, I am reduced to walking over to Pret (what is Pret?) for (semi) free wi-fi to email people, look up jobs or collect phone numbers. Then I walk back to the quiet of my flat so I can make calls and inquiries which lead to more emails and requests. So I walk back to the free wi-fi and the process repeats. Fun, huh? I am getting exercise at least. Also I have figured out it is better to blog here in the flat rather than in Pret with someone reading it over my shoulder. Don’t they know they can just read it when I post it in 5 minutes? Boy, the lengths some people go to get a scoop early! Back to the wi-fi I go!

And by the way, Michael is not giving himself nearly enough credit. Not only did he move all the stuff, he found us a perfect and amazing flat, AND free hangers from Marks and Sparks. I couldn’t ask for more.
Walk it out Mikey!
