A Naughty Baby

I had my last scan today and was told we have a naughty baby (said in an extremely British accent).

Here is a list of the things Baby did today to earn him this label:

1. Shook his head “no” over and over again when the technician tried to measure his head. He just would not hold his head still!

2. Pressed his face against the inside wall of the placenta while the tech was trying to take a picture of his face.

3. Arched his back and extended his neck out making his profile look all weird when she tried to take yet another picture.

4. Caressed his own face several times (again while she was trying to get a picture).

5. Stuck out his tongue at the camera!

And the cute things he did (I personally think the top 5 were pretty cute, too):

1. Sits like a Buddah!!! He is in the breech position (head up, facing forward, and legs semi crossed)

2. And best of all, he is sucking his thumb!!!

I had read that this is the week that fetuses discover their hands, and will sometimes start sucking their thumb or grabbing at their feet, as a way to entertain themselves. Looks like Baby is right on track! He is also on track for size and weight, coming in at 1 pound, 9 oz, and well within all the proper measurements for a little one his age.

Michael and I just can’t wait to meet him!

Well if being a clown for the camera is the worst thing your kid ever does, then you are doing GREAT. Glad to hear all is well and that baby is developing in the right direction, except the whole breech position. Good luck with that.
