Sadly I have no pictures in action (unless you count me standing in the field), so you get the shot of our winning team and my man of the match photo with Gilly K.

Baby dropped last night. I can tell because all the sudden I can take a really deep breath again! It is amazing how easy it is to take for granted something like taking in a deep breath, and how good it feels when you haven’t been able to do it for a long time, and then all the sudden you can. So what does that mean? Well, nothing really. It might mean he is coming very very soon, or it might mean that he is just in position now. They …

I bought nappies today. And nappy rash cream. And baby wash. And baby shampoo. And baby wipes. I know six months from now, these will all be part of our normal routine, but it felt very weird and special to be buying all these little bits for someone who isn’t even really here yet. On the nappy note – we have been trying to decide if we should go with cloth, disposables, or hybrids. Regular disposables were really out of the question due to the environmental impact, and lately I …

Today my company had what is fondly known as the Gilly K cup. Gilly worked where I work currently for 20 plus years. Apparently, last year as she retired it was decided a sporting event was to be held in her honour every year so she could come back out and to keep in touch. Also it creates an excuse for everyone to cut out early one day and party. It was decided that the sporting event of choice was to be cricket. Which as an American I have never …

As you may or may not know, I currently have sausages for hands and feet, so when I got on the bus today, I was quite pleased to see an available seat. Until a pretty abled bodied, but elderly woman got on the bus. She marched up to me and said, “Give me that seat!” I was irritated, but whatever, right? So I haul my big self up to give her my seat (which was the only seat available) and move into the hoardes. At which point an old man …

47 more days until we meet our little guy, and we can’t wait!!! I broke down and weighed myself today, and while I won’t tell you the number (for fear of shocking you into a coma-like state), I will say that I am right on track. I still have to gain about 10 pounds before the birth, which Michael is helping me with by providing an endless supply of Ben and Jerry’s. So here’s the 33 1/3 photo:

Amazingly, nothing extraordinary happened at swim today. I saw an old lady with an extremely hairy back, but that was about it. So I thought I would reply to Melanie’s comment a few posts back. They do heavily promote swimming as a fantastic pregnancy specific workout here, although I am still the only obviously pregnant woman at the pool. I think there are two reasons. First, it is a great exercise for pregnant women – no impact, good all around benefits for the whole body, and you feel nice and …

Who would you think is the worst in terms of clothes buying for Baby? Yeah, I thought it would be me, too. And I AM pretty bad about buying every cute thing I see. But you know who is going to spoil him beyond belief? Nope, not the Grandmas (though they are making a spectacular effort… and I mean truly spectacular). No… the worst would be Daddy – that’s right, we finally found Michael’s soft spot, and it is his little baby. Frankly, I think it is amazing and wonderful …

I went swimming again today, and I have several observations to share. Other people’s children are annoying. They scream and kick water in your face when you are trying to flot on your back, and they sneak under the changing room door and try to peek at you while you are changing, which tends to give you a heart attck when you turn around and notice a little girl in the room with you. In fact other people in general are annoying. One lady was swimming and kicked out so …
