I went to the pool last night to enjoy my leisurely float. I got in about 8:45, and I was looking for a kick board, because frankly I was feeling quite lazy and just wanted to relax. For some reason the pool only had 3 kick boards available, and they were all being used. However, one was being used by a guy who wasn’t actually using it at the time. So I asked if if he was using it, and he said he was. Since it is ladies only starting at 9pm, I asked him to just let me know when he was done, and he very nicely agreed to bring it over to me. Then another person using a board said she was leaving right then anyway, so I could use hers. All was right in the world. Until another lady took the guy’s board (he was down on the other side of the pool and hadn’t actually used it in 10 minutes. When he saw this, he FREAKED out and swam down as fast as he could and started screaming at the lady who took his board! She was trying to explain that this is a community pool and you can’t just stake a claim to the equipment. The lifeguards had to get involved and settle everyone down. Eventually – the guy ripped the kickboard from the lady’s arms and swam away with it, did 2 laps, and went home. It was pretty funny.
