Big Fat Nothing
Just got back from the midwife. Everyone is healthy – my blood pressure has dropped just a little down to 100/60 (anything above 90/60 is normal – not sure what the high parameters are). But this is no cause for alarm because the baby has a very strong heartbeat and everything else is fine.
Last week they told me they would do a membrane sweep today, but since I am having contractions on my own, they want my body to have a go at just finishing the process naturally. Stupid Nature. I almost started to cry I was so disappointed, even though I agree that it is best to just let things happen. I am tired and cranky and just want my baby already!!!
The midwife strongly encouraged me to try the birth pool for the whole thing – the labor and the delivery. Previously I had said I would try it for the labor, but it seems kind of gross to actually have the baby in the water. She said the last couple of water births, the moms have only had to push one time, and that is quite appealing to me!
Anyway, keep checking back – I will do my best to post a quick something when we leave for the hospital.
