Michael installed a special wire cage on the outside of our flat so the baby can get some air. He also built Baby’s crib and chair on Sunday night. It definitely made things more real. We have a little baby bed sitting in our room now, and I got it all ready – little mattress, waterproof sheet, regular sheet, blanket, giraffe, and elephant. I wonder if we should get a mobile to hang on the side? Anyone want to weigh in? Anyway, we went really basic on the crib so …

With any luck, my pregnancy will be over in a week or so and of course my top priority is delivering a healthy baby. But as I am reflecting back on the last months I thought I would write down the good and the bad of carrying a child.

I went to the pool last night to enjoy my leisurely float. I got in about 8:45, and I was looking for a kick board, because frankly I was feeling quite lazy and just wanted to relax. For some reason the pool only had 3 kick boards available, and they were all being used. However, one was being used by a guy who wasn’t actually using it at the time. So I asked if if he was using it, and he said he was. Since it is ladies only starting …

Today is our 6th wedding anniversary. In keeping with both the British (plate) and American (iron) traditions I have purchased Jennifer full iron plate mail armour for her to wear to all the Renaissance fairs and reenactments she so deeply loves. These traditions can seem antiquated, so luckily the “modern” guide to anniversary gifts recommends the much more progressive wood as the 6 year theme. Whilst Jen’s wooden shield won’t provide the same level of protection her armour will, it does cover all my bases. How I long for the …
