Zev’s Growing Up!

My mom came to London on Thursday. This is her first trip overseas and we are so excited to have her here – first because she’s my mom, and you really need your mom after you have a baby. And second, she has worked for a pediatric practice for years and years and she has a lot of great advice and knowledge about wee ones.

So yesterday we were out shopping and Zev started howling. We went to change him, which is definitely what was making him mad, and we saw that his cord fell off! He is now officially all grown up. I was really glad this happened because you have to be careful about diapering them until the cord is gone, as it can get infected and so forth.

Zev is such a good baby and rarely screams and hollers, but when he does, look out. I was up with him from 3am to 7am because he just couldn’t settle down. He wasn’t crying, just wriggling and whimpering. Sometimes Grandma has the magic touch, and sometimes it is Michael, but usually, he just wants to eat.

Good old sleepless nights. I’m so glad he’s not colicky. Alexander always had a clear reason for crying (clear once we figured it out, anyway). Still, losing sleep to feed is still losing sleep. Glad you’ve got your mom there to help!

So, since you had Zev in London, was his cord already set for European voltage? Or did you need an adapter?

    Hi everyone,
Kathe, you certainly haven’t lost your touch—Zev looks pretty blissed out! How was the flight?

Zev loves his Grandma!!! Her flight was good – just a little bumpy – and we’re having fun now!
