Baby Rhyme Time

Zev’s new goal is to be a better rapper than his Uncles Rico and Ricky so we have started to go to Baby Rhyme Time! There had to have been 100 babies and mums – plus one grandpa. Zev and Sophie were the youngest babies; most were more like 1-4 years old. Zev really loved it – he was looking around in utter amazement at the sheer volume of babies singing rhymes in unison. I liked it because I only knew about half the nursery songs – the rest were apparently British favourites (check out the British spelling of favorite there!), as everyone else seemed to know them quite well. Everything was going really well until they sang a song about sleeping bunnies. There is a part where they sing “shall we go and wake them” and then all the bunnies (the little children) start hopping around screaming “hop, hop, hop!” and Zev got really scared and started to cry! Poor little thing! He also made a few new friends… older babies seem to really love young babies, so he and Sophie were the hit of the show.
After Rhyme Time, Lucy and I went over to M&S and had a hot chocolate and chatted, and then we went to a classical music concert in St Mary’s Church (Mom – that’s the one you liked so much that is up the street from our flat). The concert was really, really good. Definitely exceeded my expectations. Zev slept through the whole thing, but I still think it is good for him to get out and hear real instruments, especially since he has expressed an interest in music.
All in all it was a good day… now to tackle some housecleaning.DSC06073
