Phoenix

2 weeks ago we got on a plane and took Zev to Phoenix to meet his Arizona friends and relatives and visit his house. In a nutshell, the trip was great! Zev was just amazing on both plane rides – he slept 90% of the way, and when he was awake, he was either laughing, smiling, or staring at his fellow passengers, much to their delight. Of course he whined once or twice, but it lasted less than a minute and was easily solved (as usual) with a boob in the mouth.
The lowlight of the trip was the carseat, which Zev generally hated. We figured out a few timing tricks at the end, but it broke my heart to see him crying so hard because I couldn’t feed him. Zev also caught his first virus. He had a fever of about 103 and some interesting intestinal issues. he handled it like a star, although it did make him very sad. Life is tough, little guy.
The highlight was a tie – its hard to beat seeing friends and family, and it was especially great to see Grandma, Grandpa, Kathleen, Ryan, Rowdy, Julie, Melanie, Darrick, Alexander, Jason, Pat, and Mary! Ocho, Comet, Sam, Nika, and Daisy were all great too! The other highlight was Zoolights. Julie, who has a knack for picking terrible event ideas, hit a home run and redeemed herself 100%. Zev was beyond thrilled with the whole thing. He was entranced with the lights – he stared wide eyed at everything and Michael carried him the whole time, so it was cool for me to see things from the other side of the carrier.
It was sad to go home at the end of the week, but we’re not done with our time in London just yet! DSC06173

It was so awesome to see you guys and to meet Zev! London is treating you well. You guys seem so happy and you look great. Can’t wait to see you again, next year sometime I hope. Zev is a doll. What a great little guy. I can just see him all wide-eyed at the lights.
