Swimming, Round 2
This week’s swimming class was a huge success. Zevry was asleep when we arrived but he quickly woke up when he heard the pool was open! I git him dressed in his little thermal suit and we headed upstairs. We did all the same exercises as last time, but added a new one… the DUNK!!!! OOOOOO it was so scary the first time! He got this shocked look on his face. It is interesting because the way you teach them to hold their breath is to gently blow on their face, then dunk. Michael and I have always laughed and laughed because Zevry gasps when you blow on his face, and now I know why they do that! So under the water went Zevry and out he came 1 second later with a very startled look on his face. He whimpered and looked frightened, but then he started smiling! Hooray! We did all of our other exercises and had a really fun time. They have these special mats that go about halfway underwater, so the babies can lay on the and be submerged to about their ears (and their legs are all the way under) on their backs and you can swoosh them around the pool so they get used to speed. The only downside to today’s class was that when we went to the dressing room afterward, he got so cold that his little limbs started shuddering! 2 minutes later I had him nice and cozy in hos clothes and all was well, but I am going to see if they can turn up the heat in the changing room, because a lot of other babies looked a bit blue too.
We came home and Zev passed out on his cot – wouldn’t be surprised if sleeps a couple hours!
