St. Paul’s Cathedral
I received a complaint from a loyal reader that I am not blogging enough, so I thought I would update you on our latest activities. Mostly, we’re falling into a very nice little routine. Sleeping is something we are still working on with the wee one. He does a fantastic job of sleeping if we are near, but he can only do an hour or two if he is by himself, but we’re making progress. He is such a good little boy in every way that it is hard to complain about the fact that he wants us near him. Michael has been having an exceptional amount of fun with Zev lately. Zev is a lot more fun himself. He can do so much more – he goes longer without needing a nap or a feed, he can roll around, he can almost sit up (technically he can sit up for a few seconds, but he always topples over), and he generally has a lot better coordination and awareness. He laughs all the time and is always learning some new noise. Lately he has been smacking his lips, gargling (not gurgling… gargling), spitting, saying “hey you,” rooster crowing, and squealing. All his noises make us laugh and smile and it is a lot of fun to be a little family.
On Mondays, Zev and I visit some cultural place of interest. We usually do a farm, zoo, museum, church… that sort of thing. Tuesdays is baby yoga. Wednesdays used to be baby school, but it was replaced by Rhyme Time. But Zevry just told me Wednesday Rhyme Time is stupid and he wants to do a different activity. I have some ideas so we will see if they pan out. Thursday we do swimming, and Friday is play day. The weekends are usually filled with walks, grocery shopping, hanging out with Daddy, and sometimes Zev gets to watch a movie. Usually he watches about 5 minutes of the movie, then he wants to play! It sounds like a lot when I write it all down, but in reality each of these things only takes a few hours a day and I really love getting out and seeing London and interacting with other mums and babies.
This Monday, Zevry, Lucy, Sophie, and I went to St Paul’s Cathedral. There has been a religious structure on the site for over a thousand years, but the original St Paul’s burned to the ground in 1666 during the Great Fire. There are a few effigies remaining that somehow didn’t burn, but that’s all that is left of the original. Then Christopher Wren rebuilt the church as a giant cathedral. To me it looks like a mini Vatican. The inside is beautiful, but no picture or video taking is allowed, so you will have to content yourself with this link.

Hey you? Ha ha. That’s awesome.
