Shiri Swaminarayan Mandir
Zevry and I visited the largest Hindu temple outside of India today. It was stunning. No photos inside, unfortunately. It’s built with a lot of marble and stone and the carving was just beautiful. Zevry enjoyed touching the carvings – he kept running his hands over the surface and then he’d look at me and say “oooooo!” We were lucky and happened by right when they were starting a prayer ceremony. There was a lot of drum beating, incense burning, and singing and Zevry was rapt. He sat there for the full 8 minutes with his mouth open, and he started crying when it was done. I guess he is a Hindu?
There was also a cool exhibit about Hinduism, which was both interesting and educational. My favorite quote from the exhibit is:
“What makes the Hindus special is that they honor the whole of Creation, see the presence of God in everything. To them there are no heathens or enemies. Everyone has the right to evolve spiritually, and shall, at some time realize the Truth.”
Afterward we went to the Indian restaurant next door and Zevry sat in a high chair for the first time! He ate cucumbers, carrots, red peppers, green peppers, and naan.

Hmmm, naan.
Oh Yeah… I could eat naan all day…
That looks cool. Glad to hear Zev is taking to the fine arts and architecture that London has to offer.
I now know that you were not in India.
