Pull Up Stand Up

I caught a milestone on video today… well, half of it anyway. Zev has this toy dog that sings and talks in a British accent (except for the words hippopotamus, oranges, and purple which, weirdly, are in an American accent). So lately Zevry’s been loving this dog and playing with him a lot. We were playing on the couch and I put Scout (the dog) up on the back, against the wall. Zev pulled himself up onto his knees which he has just figured out, but then he got all the way up on his feet!!! Watch it here. I only got from the knees up, not the bum to the knees so you’ll have to take my word on it. And sorry about the fact that the video is sideways. Cinematography is not my strong suit.

In other baby news, he is getting up on all fours and rocking all the time. He’s mastered DaDa and MaMa (though I don’t think he quite knows what he is saying). He can make his second sign really well (milk). And he has been doing 3 hour naps for the nanny and regularly sleeps 12 hours at night, though he often wakes up once or twice. But he’s getting a lot better about sleep in general, which is much appreciated. A lot of babies his age start waking up a lot more in the night because they are so excited about their newfound skills that they start crawling or walking in their sleep – Zev is definitely among them! I can’t tell you how many times I wake up and he is on all fours rocking back and forth – completely asleep mind you! Its pretty cute.

Wow that is so great!! He is changing every day it seems. I’m so happy we will have him in person soon so we can interact with him and watch his new skills.
