I am 38 weeks and 5 days today so I should be measuring around 38 cm from pelvic bone to the top of my uterus, but I am coming in at a whopping 39.5 cm!!! As with everything in pregnancy, this could mean:
A. Nothing
B. Baby is big
C. Baby is ready
D. Something totally different

You know, ever since Jen became pregnant, I keep finding myself craving the… oh? What’s that? No one cares about my cravings? Oh, okay.

Baby is happy and healthy. He is semi engaged, and in the exact right position to be born, with his back on my left side, his little bum curling up around the top left, and his legs sticking out to the right. His head is facing to the right. He probably will stay in this approximate position for the next 4-5 weeks, when he will join us in the real world. I had my first antenatal class today. Nothing too shocking, but a few interesting points. The midwife was coming down hard on Lamaze, saying that if you do that style of breathing you’re probably not getting enough oxygen to the baby or yourself. It also encourages the need for an episiotomy because you tend to just push and push without a lot of conscious thought. They tend to encourage slow, deep breathing, without all the panic, and when the baby crowns, they encourage you to stop pushing and let the …

47 more days until we meet our little guy, and we can’t wait!!! I broke down and weighed myself today, and while I won’t tell you the number (for fear of shocking you into a coma-like state), I will say that I am right on track. I still have to gain about 10 pounds before the birth, which Michael is helping me with by providing an endless supply of Ben and Jerry’s. So here’s the 33 1/3 photo:
