The first couple of times we bathed Zevry he wasn’t too sure if he liked it, but it quickly grew into one of his favorite times of the day. We incorporated it into his evening pre-bed routine and I think it has always helped to relax him and signal to him that it is the end of the day. The other day, I thought it would be fun to try giving him a bath with only about 2 inches of water, so I could just lay him down in the …

We’ve gone almost 6 months exclusively using a sling to carry Zevry. There have been one or two times when I’ve thought it would be really nice to have him in a buggy, but for the most part the sling has been convenient and easy. And I’ve been reluctant to buy a buggy for 3 reasons:
1. Good ones are expensive – around $750 expensive.
2. They take up a lot of space.
3. I keep thinking if I can hold out just a little longer, I can get one designed for an …

I have to back to work 3 weeks from tomorrow. I don’t exactly expect anyone to feel sorry for me since I will have had 6 months away from work, and I am going back 3 days a week, not 5, but still. Ugh. It is hard work taking care of a baby, and there are very few breaks. It doesn’t even stop at night, and while it is getting easier and a lot more fun now that Zevry can sit up and entertain himself for 10 minutes or so, …

First of all, a big thank you to Michael for all the hard work of creating and running the site again this year. I for one appreciate it and I had a lot of fun playing.
Second:
Me: “What’s my name?”
All the rest of you: “You’re the King of New York… A #1….”
Me: “Say it louder!!!”
(yes that’s me, finally smack talking)

Zevry has discovered that he has a voice! His favorite word is ahhhgooo and he says it all the time. All the time. Nana gt a taste of it on the phone the other day, but then yesterday we i-chatted with Grandma and Grandpa and he talked for a good solid 20 minutes. Every time we tried to talk, he would jump in with his two cents.
Zev has also started some rudimentary mimicry. The other day Michael was taking a shower and I brought the baby in to peek around …

Dear Zevry,
Today is your first Christmas and I thought I would take a moment to tell you how much it means to me to spend this day with you and your Daddy. Your Auntie Kathleen, Uncle Ryan, Grandma Jo, Grandpa John, and Daddy are all in the other room, we just talked to Nana and Grandpa David, Auntie Kristin, Great Uncle Jim, and tried to get in touch with Grandpa Jim and Grandma Betty, and Auntie Heather, and I sneaked away to write you a letter.
There really are no words …

Zevry started eating some basic food yesterday. His weight gain continues to be slow, so the health visitor recommended we supplement his feeds with one formula feed a day, but I did a little research and found it would be better to start him on this banana/rice puree stuff. It doesn’t taste too bad, but it certainly wouldn’t make my top ten.
Michael asked if he could be the one to give him his feeds, since he is just getting the one batch per day, and I welcomed, nay relished in …

2 weeks ago we got on a plane and took Zev to Phoenix to meet his Arizona friends and relatives and visit his house. In a nutshell, the trip was great! Zev was just amazing on both plane rides – he slept 90% of the way, and when he was awake, he was either laughing, smiling, or staring at his fellow passengers, much to their delight. Of course he whined once or twice, but it lasted less than a minute and was easily solved (as usual) with a boob in …

Zev’s new goal is to be a better rapper than his Uncles Rico and Ricky so we have started to go to Baby Rhyme Time! There had to have been 100 babies and mums – plus one grandpa. Zev and Sophie were the youngest babies; most were more like 1-4 years old. Zev really loved it – he was looking around in utter amazement at the sheer volume of babies singing rhymes in unison. I liked it because I only knew about half the nursery songs – the rest were …
