Now that Zevry is a toddler, I feel it is time for him to take on some responsibility toward the upkeep of the household, so he’s been assigned a chore. The diving board drew first blood. As many of you know, Zev enjoys a good nude dip in the pool most days, and after his swim, he often likes to hold onto the railing and do a little pole dancing. Its actually pretty hilarious to watch, but seems inappropriate to post videos for what I hope are obvious reasons. So Zev got his first haircut. He was looking quite wild and woolly and I think he was scaring the other children. I decided to give him a little trim, and it seemed silly to take him to a barber shop or even one of those kids haircut places. His hair was about a million different lengths and was starting to grow over his ears, so I really just wanted to trim the edges and make his top hair short enough that his shampoo mohawk could actually stand up. So we are starting to settle in to our new, old house. Jason moved 95% of his stuff this past weekend, meaning we get our bedroom back! We’ll miss Jason, but we also like the bedroom, walk in closet, and our bathroom. It is nice to have the space. This also means we can now start organizing the other bedrooms, and finally get Zev’s space in order.

Tonight I gave Zevry a bath and I was blowing soap bubbles at him. He would watch them land on his belly and try to touch them and of course they would pop. So I kept saying “Bye Bye Bubbles!!!” And he repeated it back to me! I know he doesn’t know what it means, but he said “Bye Bye Bubbles” very clearly about 3-4 times. Later he kept trying to say it and came close, but it was more like “Buh Buh Bubs.” It was very, very sweet!

The kid likes to eat. A lot. And pretty much anything. But he definitely has his favorites: bananas, porridge, avocados, oranges, broccoli, and pretty much any fruit. Sometimes he gets so excited that its breakfast / lunch / dinner / snack time that he kneels and starts bouncing and yelling… not crying but yelling with glee! We went to Hyde Park for fun at the playground, and they had a carousel out for the Easter Holidays. We stopped so Zev could have a look at it and he was absolutely entranced by the lights and music so of course we had to take a ride! Since Zevry and Sophie are so little the had to ride in the coach instead of on one of the horses, but they didn’t seem to mind!

We were walking in Holland Park this afternoon, when a police car drove past us, and stopped at the pig meadow. To police officers got out of the car and went into the meadow to check an alarm which had been triggered. As soon as they went in, the pigs ran at full speed over to them. Then they all stood around and looked at each other for awhile.

I started work again today. Yep… maternity leave is over, all glorious 7 months. I know I am so lucky to have had all those weeks with my little boy, but I want 7 more! The first couple of times we bathed Zevry he wasn’t too sure if he liked it, but it quickly grew into one of his favorite times of the day.
