Tonight I gave Zevry a bath and I was blowing soap bubbles at him. He would watch them land on his belly and try to touch them and of course they would pop. So I kept saying “Bye Bye Bubbles!!!” And he repeated it back to me! I know he doesn’t know what it means, but he said “Bye Bye Bubbles” very clearly about 3-4 times. Later he kept trying to say it and came close, but it was more like “Buh Buh Bubs.” It was very, very sweet!

I caught a milestone on video today… well, half of it anyway. Zev has this toy dog that sings and talks in a British accent (except for the words hippopotamus, oranges, and purple which, weirdly, are in an American accent). So lately Zevry’s been loving this dog and playing with him a lot. We were playing on the couch and I put Scout (the dog) up on the back, against the wall. For the first time today, Zevry clapped on his own! This is a major accomplishment for any baby, as clapping is required for so many of the best baby songs, such as “If You’re Happy and You Know It, Clap Your Hands.”

Zevry had a breakthrough swimming session this morning. He was laughing, smiling, swimming, and just generally having fun. He almost cried one time when the instructor took him from me and swam him around for a minute, but other than that he had a great time. He was dunked 3 times! And one of those times Steve shuttled him through the water (underwater) for about 5 seconds… which seems like a really long time when it is happening. Today was Zevry’s first Baby Dolphins swimming class. It was also the first time he has been in a pool. At first he was just fine. He had on his little thermal suit and the water is heated to about 85 degrees, so there was no cold water shock or anything. We got in and he just kind of looked around, and he was very relaxed. 2 weeks ago we got on a plane and took Zev to Phoenix to meet his Arizona friends and relatives and visit his house. In a nutshell, the trip was great! Zev was just amazing on both plane rides – he slept 90% of the way, and when he was awake, he was either laughing, smiling, or staring at his fellow passengers, much to their delight. Saturday was a brutal day weather wise. It rained all day and was miserable, but it made for a great day of getting under a blanket with Jen and Zevry and camping out by the TV. I actually braved the weather to go play football, but only 4 people showed up. Wimps!

This morning Daddy went to play some football and I put Zev down on Monkey Island for some play time.
