So much for keeping up with the blog. A lot has changed in the last six months. New job, new goals, and Zev is exactly two and a half. He knows so much now, and he has the funniest gestures. He often holds up his hands and says, “I come in just a minute, Mama – I’m still playing.” He has had a couple of nuclear meltdowns, one was almost indescribable. But he is usually pretty good! He started nursery school and he seems to really enjoy going there to …

Zev (out of nowhere): I old.
Jen: Oh really? How old are you?
Zev: Ummmmm. I old.
Jen: Are you two?
Zev: No, I five. I old.
Zev: I want popcorn.
Jen: Ok, how many pieces do you want?
Zev : I want ALL of it.
Jen: ALL of it?
Zev: Yeah. Not for Ocho.
Zev (naked in the pool, with bucket on head and standing perfectly still): I a water robot!
Jen: Wow! You’re a water robot?
Zev: No, I Zev.
Zev: I like tools. I love them. Yahoo!

Wow, am I just that lazy or have I been that busy that I couldn’t write a blog post for over 6 months? Maybe a combination of both… So much has happened since I last wrote. Zev is almost two! He has almost all his teeth! He has gone from saying a few words to truly speaking – he says so many words, hundreds probably, and he makes sentences and communicates concepts. He throws himself on the floor when he doesn’t get his way and he gives hugs and kisses …

We visited the dentist today. She was nice enough and seemed to know what she was doing. Zev wasn’t scared and in fact wanted to “bas?!” which means I want to get in/on that thing I am pointing at (in this case the chair), but can also mean I want to get down from this thing I am in/on.
He was actually having a grand time, what with all the pretty ladies admiring how cute he is, until he had to have flouride put in his mouth. They actually paint it …

Michael had a company picnic on Saturday, so we packed up the baby and headed down to Central Phoenix for some good times! It was a political picnic SRP holds every year, where all the candidates for all the parties have a chance to speak for a few minutes. It was interesting to see all the candidates gathered, but frankly, it was a lot more fun to watch Zev running around than to listen to a bunch of speeches. We tried to get Zev’s arm painted with a pumpkin, but …

Zevry really, really enjoys chasing the dogs on his walker. I think the dogs like it too, because all they would have to do is leave the room and he wouldn’t follow them. But they just let him chase them around and around the room. But today he figured out how to get Comet to chase him! He put Poolie (Comet’s adored pool toy) in his walker and then started running. Comet was after him in no time, and he was laughing louder than I have ever heard him laugh.

Zev cut his 5th tooth today. He had been very whiny and clingy the last few days and then today he looked up at me and smiled and he had a bot of blood in his mouth! I thought he must have hurt himself, but when I looked I saw the blood was coming from his gums and a little tooth had popped out overnight! Its already a centimeter or two out, so a small blood vessel must have been holding it back and then popped finally, allowing the tooth …

Zevry loves looking at himself. In photos, in the mirror – anywhere he can see himself, he will be there! The second he catches sight and realizes it is him, he simply can’t stop staring at that handsome little boy! I know it is pretty common for babies to enjoy looking at themselves, but its still funny.

We had a great day! Friends over in the morning, bagels with Kathleen, Zev took a nice long nap without a lot of fussing, we got most of our errands done. Then, while we were grocery shopping, Zev took the punnet of blueberries and flung them across the busiest aisle in the grocery store. Blueberries everywhere. Carts running over blueberries, hence blueberry juice everywhere, I just had to laugh (after i cleaned up what I could of the mess).

I played in the sandbox MUCH longer than was normal. I loved the sandbox! I don’t really remember why, but I know I spent hours and hours digging, making roads, building castles, and so on. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my lego, barbies, and big wheel, but the sandbox was something special. So you can imagine how happy I was to see my boy following in my footsteps!
