When we arrived in London from Phoenix, we had to go through Border Control, where they check your passport and make sure you are a valid visa holder. I am the visa holder for our family, and Michael has a sticker that shows he is my “visa dependent.” Apparently, Zev needs one of these stickers, too, because when we got to Border Control they wouldn’t admit him to the country! We had to sit in a special area for awhile while they got the supervisors involved, as they needed to …

2 weeks ago we got on a plane and took Zev to Phoenix to meet his Arizona friends and relatives and visit his house. In a nutshell, the trip was great! Zev was just amazing on both plane rides – he slept 90% of the way, and when he was awake, he was either laughing, smiling, or staring at his fellow passengers, much to their delight. Of course he whined once or twice, but it lasted less than a minute and was easily solved (as usual) with a boob in …

Saturday was a brutal day weather wise. It rained all day and was miserable, but it made for a great day of getting under a blanket with Jen and Zevry and camping out by the TV. I actually braved the weather to go play football, but only 4 people showed up. Wimps!
Anyway, Sunday morning was a completely different scene. The sun was out and Zev was in high spirits and extremely active. We took some photos of him as he did cute things. Then he started rolling over every time …

I think that overall we have been extremely lucky with Zev. The pregnancy, birth, and his health have all been close to ideal, and I am very grateful for that. The only area that has been a little challenging is sleep. Zev hates his cot. Hates it. Either that or he seems terrified of it. So far it hasn’t been a big issue because we have been practicing attachment parenting (check out this link if you want, but in a nutshell it means that we are very responsive to Zev …

Zev’s new goal is to be a better rapper than his Uncles Rico and Ricky so we have started to go to Baby Rhyme Time! There had to have been 100 babies and mums – plus one grandpa. Zev and Sophie were the youngest babies; most were more like 1-4 years old. Zev really loved it – he was looking around in utter amazement at the sheer volume of babies singing rhymes in unison. I liked it because I only knew about half the nursery songs – the rest were …

This morning Daddy went to play some football and I put Zev down on Monkey Island for some play time. He really does like this toy a lot, and I have been putting it in the floor instead of the bed because it provides a harder surface and I though it might help him with his pushups to build his neck strength.
So we’re playing and all the sudden, Zev rolled over from his tummy to his back! He looked shocked and so did I. After I cheered for him, I …

What an exciting week! On Monday, Zev and I met our friends Lucy and Sophie and we went to the Natural History Museum. We will definitely be back. We went to a special Darwin Exhibit, which was nothing short of spectacular. They had a really cool set up – when you enter the exhibit, you go into this giant cocoon, which houses the collection. Your ticket is a lightweight flexible card, and at each display in the exhibit, you can save data to your card and then look it up …

Wednesday’s baby school was baby massage – the next 2 weeks are the same thing so we get really good at it. Zev loved it! He was calm and relaxed during the whole thing, and when I started massaging him, his face lit up and he smiled and cooed. It is pretty basic stuff, but good to know the actual techniques. I felt a little weird asking the baby for permission to massage him, especially when he didn’t reply, but apparently this is really important. The idea iis that you …
