Tonight I gave Zevry a bath and I was blowing soap bubbles at him. He would watch them land on his belly and try to touch them and of course they would pop. So I kept saying “Bye Bye Bubbles!!!” And he repeated it back to me! I know he doesn’t know what it means, but he said “Bye Bye Bubbles” very clearly about 3-4 times. Later he kept trying to say it and came close, but it was more like “Buh Buh Bubs.” It was very, very sweet!
Then, …

We went to Hyde Park for fun at the playground, and they had a carousel out for the Easter Holidays. We stopped so Zev could have a look at it and he was absolutely entranced by the lights and music so of course we had to take a ride! Since Zevry and Sophie are so little the had to ride in the coach instead of on one of the horses, but they didn’t seem to mind!
Here is the video.

Yes that is a real word. Volcano Eyjafjallajoekull in Iceland has been erupting and shooting ash into the atmosphere and they’ve shut down all the airports in Northern Europe. It looks sunny outside, but apparently there is enough glass and other particles in the air to clog up jet engines. That kind of makes me wonder if I should hold my breath for a few days.

We were walking in Holland Park this afternoon, when a police car drove past us, and stopped at the pig meadow. To police officers got out of the car and went into the meadow to check an alarm which had been triggered. As soon as they went in, the pigs ran at full speed over to them. Then they all stood around and looked at each other for awhile.

We’ve gone almost 6 months exclusively using a sling to carry Zevry. There have been one or two times when I’ve thought it would be really nice to have him in a buggy, but for the most part the sling has been convenient and easy. And I’ve been reluctant to buy a buggy for 3 reasons:
1. Good ones are expensive – around $750 expensive.
2. They take up a lot of space.
3. I keep thinking if I can hold out just a little longer, I can get one designed for an …

I have to back to work 3 weeks from tomorrow. I don’t exactly expect anyone to feel sorry for me since I will have had 6 months away from work, and I am going back 3 days a week, not 5, but still. Ugh. It is hard work taking care of a baby, and there are very few breaks. It doesn’t even stop at night, and while it is getting easier and a lot more fun now that Zevry can sit up and entertain himself for 10 minutes or so, …

Zevry and I visited the largest Hindu temple outside of India today. It was stunning. No photos inside, unfortunately. It’s built with a lot of marble and stone and the carving was just beautiful. Zevry enjoyed touching the carvings – he kept running his hands over the surface and then he’d look at me and say “oooooo!” We were lucky and happened by right when they were starting a prayer ceremony. There was a lot of drum beating, incense burning, and singing and Zevry was rapt. He sat there …

I received a complaint from a loyal reader that I am not blogging enough, so I thought I would update you on our latest activities. Mostly, we’re falling into a very nice little routine. Sleeping is something we are still working on with the wee one. He does a fantastic job of sleeping if we are near, but he can only do an hour or two if he is by himself, but we’re making progress. He is such a good little boy in every way that it is hard to …

This week’s swimming class was a huge success. Zevry was asleep when we arrived but he quickly woke up when he heard the pool was open! I git him dressed in his little thermal suit and we headed upstairs. We did all the same exercises as last time, but added a new one… the DUNK!!!! OOOOOO it was so scary the first time! He got this shocked look on his face. It is interesting because the way you teach them to hold their breath is to gently blow on their …
