You knew it was going to be a weird day when Comet limped in to me this morning after she woke up on three legs. Somehow in her night full of stretching groaning and rolling around on her bed, her front paw got hooked in her collar. She hopped over to me and sat down. She knew who to come to.
An hour later, I received instant messages from a very frustrated and cranky sutton named Jennifer. Apparently, her internets were not working and she needed help. As the go to …

Well I am officially moved into 9 Herbal Hill. It is a purpose built set of flats, but pretty nice. Of course it is on the spendier side of the budget, but I wanted someplace safe and convenient. Amazingly, finding a new home in a new country with one week’s notice is harder than you might imagine. It was difficult finding a place where I could stay for the interim period of waiting for Michael to come out, especially since we don’t have an exact date in mind yet – …

I started off the day with the hotel’s breakfast, which consists daily of scrambled eggs, sauteed mushrooms, baked beans with tomato (?) sauce, sausages, blood patties, bacon, potatoes, fruit, and croissant. I really wanted to go back to Borough for breakfast, since it has been voted the best place in London for brunch, but I am trying to be fiscally responsible, and that means eating free food when it is there. I was seated next to a French group – seems like it was a man, his young daughter, …

So I (the Princess in this story) woke up this morning in excruciating pain. My lower back was KILLING me. I rolled over to get out of bed, put my foot down, and my leg didn’t work!!! It just kind of collapsed under me, which was really weird. Luckily the bed was right under me, so I just kind of laid back down. Naturally, I assumed that I had some sort of Sciatic Nerve meltdown, given Michael’s recent bout with nerve damage. I realized I was laying on something on …

There are a lot of French things in London, including a creperie close by my hotel, where I dined this evening
Amazingly, I made my first British Rail trip without a hitch. I had to go to the Euston Tube station to pick up my rail tickets, backtrack to the St Pancras Tube to connect to the Leicester station (which is about 1.5 hours north of London). I met the Leicester staff, who were very helpful. I will say, however, if I have to look at one more hand drawn diagram …

I was a tourist today, which was great. I had a few errands to run, too, but I spent the majority of my time today acclimating myself to all the great things London has to offer. So here’s the rundown:
I left the hotel this morning around 9:00am and walked across the Hungerford Bridge to Trafalgar Square, which is the most famous square in England, which is named to commemorate Nelson’s victory over the French and Spanish at Cape Trafalgar in 1805. It has a 170 foot high statue, …

Oh so sleepy today…. I went to be around 11:30 and feel asleep right away, but woke up about 30 minutes later. I could not fall sleep for 3 hours. I think jet lag finally got me. Or maybe it was just weird to have a giant king sized bed all to myself!!! I was exhausted this morning, but managed to roll into work on time, avoiding being fired on my second day.
Had a  great day at work. everyone is friendly and helpful. Probably because they know the team I …

Let me tell you what is fun. Phoenix + Car in sun all day + Driving Home
Today was not easy, and trying to focus on your work is difficult when you know your Sutton is on a completely different continent, where it is 60 and partly sunny. Oh how I envy her for leaving just before the hot weather decided it was here to stay.

The top reason I love London today is that everyone walks really fast. if there is one thing I don’t like, it is walking slow, unless you are on a tour-y type walk. Another thing I really like is that every restaurant I go to has a lot of vegetarian items, marked with a “V.” It makes it so easy to see what you can eat – and there are multiple options, which is also nice. Last night I had edamame seared in a wok then seasoned with lemongrass and …

Why you ask? Primarily because they rock. I had a really good experience. Actually everything has been really good so far. I checked in quickly, got the seat I had reserved (a bulkhead seat with lots of legroom). The flight left more or less on time… I think it was about 15 minutes late… which is on time in airline lingo. And also, they actually board you in a way that makes sense – from the front and the back at the same time, so we were all on board …
