Whew… what a busy two weeks. First Zevry was born, then Jen’s mom came to town and now it is time to catch our collective breath and get ready to watch some NFL football!
Anyway, it has been a whirlwind of midwifes and nappies and short spans of sleep. I am sitting at the computer typing this and all has been quiet in the flat for a few hours now. How nice. Zev loves his mom more than anything and he’s even responding to her voice now. He knows where his …

My mom came to London on Thursday. This is her first trip overseas and we are so excited to have her here – first because she’s my mom, and you really need your mom after you have a baby. And second, she has worked for a pediatric practice for years and years and she has a lot of great advice and knowledge about wee ones.
So yesterday we were out shopping and Zev started howling. We went to change him, which is definitely what was making him mad, and we saw …

First of all – thank you to everyone for your support, love and good wishes over the last several months. This blog has been a fantastic way for us to share this incredible time with all of our friends and family, and I love seeing your comments and knowing you are all rooting for us!
*** I decided to record this experience in some detail, so please don’t read it if you will be offended by that sort of thing.
The birth was an incredible experience. I started recording contractions at 2:40pm …

Midwife says I should have Baby in my arms in 24 hours. I am 3cm dilated, 50% effaced, and she can touch Baby’s head with her finger. I was so upset about an hour ago, with all the waiting and so forth that I wanted to cry but I am so happy now!!!
Every time you go to the midwife you have to give a urine sample, so I was doing that and I …

Around 4:30 or so I went for a walk to see if I could kick-start some contractions, and it worked! By a few minutes after 6 I was having a ton of cramps and some moderately painful contractions. Still nothing consistent or anything, but way more than I have ever had before. Then they started to get more and more intense, so I let Michael know (I told him there was no need to rush, but it seemed like there were some stirrings in my belly). He was just leaving …

Michael installed a special wire cage on the outside of our flat so the baby can get some air. He also built Baby’s crib and chair on Sunday night. It definitely made things more real. We have a little baby bed sitting in our room now, and I got it all ready – little mattress, waterproof sheet, regular sheet, blanket, giraffe, and elephant. I wonder if we should get a mobile to hang on the side? Anyone want to weigh in? Anyway, we went really basic on the crib so …

With any luck, my pregnancy will be over in a week or so and of course my top priority is delivering a healthy baby. But as I am reflecting back on the last months I thought I would write down the good and the bad of carrying a child.
I think the best part is feeling a little person growing inside of you every day. Knowing that you and you alone are responsible for making sure they have everything they need. I don’t mean to diminish the role of Dads or …

No, I haven’t landed a part in the remake of this show, although if they did remake it, with current health care costs, the $6 million dollar man would be a guy who got into a car accident, had to stay in the hospital a month and then got sent on his way with a pair of WWII-era crutches.
Recently I received some mail from the IRS, apparently they missed me. Well they missed me AND the fact that they thought that I owed them $2.2 million dollars. Their (flawed) …
