Okay sports fans, a special playoff edition of the pool. Following is the selection show which shows you how it all went down. If you don’t have 7 minutes to waste, scroll past to your assigned teams. Worth noting, 7 of the selected 12 pairings are Super Bowl rematches. I’m no statistician, but I imagine that the odds of that happening were pretty slim. The only possible combo we missed was the Pats – Eagles. Interesting.

Purple League
Adam F. – Jets & Eagles

Michael had a company picnic on Saturday, so we packed up the baby and headed down to Central Phoenix for some good times! It was a political picnic SRP holds every year, where all the candidates for all the parties have a chance to speak for a few minutes. It was interesting to see all the candidates gathered, but frankly, it was a lot more fun to watch Zev running around than to listen to a bunch of speeches. We tried to get Zev’s arm painted with a pumpkin, but ...

Zev has been really interested in birds lately. We go swimming a few times a week and then sit out in the shade and wait for the hot air to dry us off. While we do that, a lot of birds fly overhead. They fly from tree to tree, and sometimes land on the roof or the ground. A few weeks ago, Michael was holding him the pool and he pointed in the air and said bird one time, but then he didn’t say it again. He also made the ...

Being an international jet setter, Zev insisted on visiting 2 continents during his winter holiday. We got home from the US on Tuesday, had a nice long sleep and woke up bright and early to catch our train to Scotland. As usual, Zevry was a champion traveler, and was generally really good on both 5 hour train rides.
As you get close to Scotland, the scenery from the train is spectacular – lots of farms and rolling hills which give way to cliffs and an amazing view of the North Sea. ...

Zev’s new goal is to be a better rapper than his Uncles Rico and Ricky so we have started to go to Baby Rhyme Time! There had to have been 100 babies and mums – plus one grandpa. Zev and Sophie were the youngest babies; most were more like 1-4 years old. Zev really loved it – he was looking around in utter amazement at the sheer volume of babies singing rhymes in unison. I liked it because I only knew about half the nursery songs – the rest were ...

After about an hour or so of private time in the delivery room you get moved to the postpartum ward. The ward is made up of 6, 6 bed units (36 beds). Each family gets a private area which is curtained off, but you are definitely in a group environment. My little section had the added benefit of being right in front of the nurses’ station, which basically meant that I got to listen to them bicker and complain about the doctors all night! The first night there were 3 ...

Update. Mom and baby came home last night and everyone is settling in quite nicely. Zev sleeps–a lot–and therefore it is hard to catch him in an active state. So for those who want proof he actually opens his eyes… and sneezes, with a look like what was THAT?

So here are the details to a some of the questions we have been receiving.

That wasn’t a misprint, Zev was 23 1/4 ” and 9lbs 13 oz.
Jen is still in the hospital, but because Zev is being kept for monitoring because he has an elevated respiratory rate. It isn’t anything to be too concerned about at the moment, but we will keep everyone updated. (That is why you haven’t heard much from her.)
