Michael used to call my yoga pants my maternity pants – this was a long time ago, way before baby came into the picture. I cleaned out my closet the other day and found that they really do make great maternity pants!!! You just fold the fold over part up to cover your belly and away you go! Hooray for free maternity clothes.

The good news… no stretch marks yet. The bad news… I am beyond enormous.  Michael took this for me just before bed on the 1st day of the 35th week. 35 days to go! Note the grape for comparison purposes.

Baby dropped last night. I can tell because all the sudden I can take a really deep breath again! It is amazing how easy it is to take for granted something like taking in a deep breath, and how good it feels when you haven’t been able to do it for a long time, and then all the sudden you can. I bought nappies today. And nappy rash cream. And baby wash. And baby shampoo. And baby wipes. I know six months from now, these will all be part of our normal routine, but it felt very weird and special to be buying all these little bits for someone who isn’t even really here yet. It was really hot here yesterday – 84 degrees! Which is just about unbearable to the Brits. In fact they have issued heat wave warnings, and all the papers have headlines like “Killer Heat Wave!!!” To be fair, air conditioning is pretty unusual here, especially in people’s homes, and only the really big office buildings have it (Michael has to suffer with just a fan and an open window).

I was confirmed with B- blood today (which I already knew, but they wanted to test). So I had to have the Rh- shot. A Scottish midwife gave it to me, and I could barely understand what she was saying!!! Something about hating this jab because it is quite thick.
Anyway, my stupid arm hurts now and I couldn’t sleep last night because my stupid back hurts. I kept poor MIchael up all night with my tossing and turning, but he didn’t complain once.
