Michael used to call my yoga pants my maternity pants – this was a long time ago, way before baby came into the picture. I cleaned out my closet the other day and found that they really do make great maternity pants!!! You just fold the fold over part up to cover your belly and away you go! Hooray for free maternity clothes.

I was coming home from swimming this morning and I noticed a bunch of people lined up on our street – not a ton, just maybe 100 people all holding little British flags. They were all looking expectantly down the street. I noticed the other side of the street was blocked off and I got kind of excited because I thought there must be some sort of parade! Baby is happy and healthy. He is semi engaged, and in the exact right position to be born, with his back on my left side, his little bum curling up around the top left, and his legs sticking out to the right. His head is facing to the right. He probably will stay in this approximate position for the next 4-5 weeks, when he will join us in the real world.  Don’t you think your neck would hurt  if you were in one position for 5 weeks??? I had my first antenatal class today. Nothing too shocking, but a few interesting points. The midwife was coming down hard on Lamaze, saying that if you do that style of breathing you’re probably not getting enough oxygen to the baby or yourself. It also encourages the need for an episiotomy because you tend to just push and push without a lot of conscious thought. They tend to encourage slow, deep breathing, without all the panic, and when the baby crowns, they encourage you to stop pushing and let the …
