Amazingly, I made my first British Rail trip without a hitch. I had to go to the Euston Tube station to pick up my rail tickets, backtrack to the St Pancras Tube to connect to the Leicester station (which is about 1.5 hours north of London). I was a tourist today, which was great. I had a few errands to run, too, but I spent the majority of my time today acclimating myself to all the great things London has to offer. So here’s the rundown:

Oh so sleepy today…. I went to be around 11:30 and feel asleep right away, but woke up about 30 minutes later. I could not fall sleep for 3 hours. I think jet lag finally got me. Or maybe it was just weird to have a giant king sized bed all to myself!!! I was exhausted this morning, but managed to roll into work on time, avoiding being fired on my second day.

Today was not easy, and trying to focus on your work is difficult when you know your Sutton is on a completely different continent, where it is 60 and partly sunny. Oh how I envy her for leaving just before the hot weather decided it was here to stay.

The top reason I love London today is that everyone walks really fast. if there is one thing I don’t like, it is walking slow, unless you are on a tour-y type walk. Another thing I really like is that every restaurant I go to has a lot of vegetarian items, marked with a “V.” It makes it so easy to see what you can eat – and there are multiple options, which is also nice.
